LDS Blogtrain: Let the Little Children Come

Welcome friends!

What a fun theme this was to work with.. I know Jesus loves and cares about us all, but especially little children because their love of learning, and they have pure hearts and minds. In the scriptures many times we are lovingly reminded to become as little children. I think that means to be IN the world, not OF the world. He wants us to forgive, love, and live as Heavenly Father would like us to live.

Do you remember when your child-like innocence seemed to disappear? We can still be adults, but be as a child would, submissive to our Heavenly Father, obedient, and have a pure heart.

The scriptures teach us how, if we read them and pray about what we read.

Thank you for reading my thoughts, As I was working with this, I chose to do the majority in blues and greens and whites, to have a calming effect. I hope you can get a lot of nice layouts made with this and other portions of the LDS blogtrain participants' kits.

One of our store CT gals, JenC, requested a kit to scrap her daughter's handcart trek pictures... so together with Marie H Designs, Harmonystar, we made this huge collab!

Pioneering, it's all around us everyday. We are all pioneers in our own ways, whether we are going new places or opening up new ideas; it all takes faith. Our faith will take us through every step of our pioneering journeys just as it did the western pioneers. We present to you "Faith In Every Footstep."

This special collaboration is highlighting western pioneers, the Oregon Trail, and the Mormon Pioneers. Do you have special outdoors pictures you want to scrap? This is the kit for you! Whether you have joined in on a handcart trek, a wagon train, attended a dude ranch, or dressed up in your cowboy duds, We've added lots of fun elements and papers for your scrapping pleasure.

Oh wow, I just got back from checking in at Gingerscraps. Boy, have I had a hard weekend without touching base with my Gingerscraps friends! The site has a new, fun look; and some neat updates in our forum!

Each post in the forums now has a "like" button, a "dislike" button, and a "thank you" button.. and a link to each person's gallery on their posts!

Now we can 'like' stuff just like that other place... ahem...

Thank you for the comments, the well wishes, for my birthday here and on Facebook! I had a really nice birthday.

While I did say I was 29 again, I am really 42. I am telling you this because there is hope! lol! When I was about to turn 40, I told my family to forget it was my birthday. I was in denial. I didn't want to turn 40. Well, they made my birthday special 2 years ago, and 41 wasn't so bad, but 42 was an awesome birthday! I had a blast! I still feel like I'm in my 20s.

Thank you for sharing it all with me.

One of the store CT for Gingerscraps; Lisa (FJchickie) made this wonderful layout and she made these specs, too! I am amazed.. just wanted to share it with you all. (her dog is wearing the specs!)

My friends, today is my birthday, and while I'm 29 again this year, I still enjoy my birthdays, lol.

Several exciting things are going on! I am so thrilled that today my blog counter said my blog has had 100,000 visits! YES! thank you!

Another exciting thing that has been going on is that I redid my bedroom furniture and I love it! It's furniture that has been in my family for more than 40 years, but it needed a new look. I am in love with it even more now.

Last but not least, I am re-committed to getting back in shape! I will be going to swimming and treadmill everyday, and taking water aerobics. I am so excited!

I have a special surprise for all my blog followers and people who have left comments, and supported me when making freebies, and selling my designs! Also, this month is my birthday month, and I want to celebrate by sharing with you all. A couple months ago, I asked for input from you as to what kind of freebies you would like. Thank you for all the responses. I thought I should make something that has a masculine feel to it, and one of you suggested shabby chic/country/vintage... so that was my final choice.

Keeping it Real .. boys bathrooms..... ugghhh!!

So my sweet friend Julie, from Gingerscraps, started this kewl thing called Keeping it Real. I think she was truly inspired... we like to show our very best on our blogs and our most creative side, etc... but I think keeping it real is important too.. cuz heaven knows we all have 'real' lives where we experience messes, crazy moments, sad days, hard days, funny and embarrassing times, and loss.

My keep it real today is my boys' bathroom. The 2 boys have their own bedrooms and their bathroom is inbetween their bedrooms, each have their own door to the bathroom, like on the brady bunch, lol! For the first couple years we lived in this house, I would clean their bathroom, but I've stopped doing that a couple years ago. I told my husband I don't want to even step foot in there, lol... why do boys pee all over everything? hehe is this why we have all girl pets?

So my husband is in charge of making sure the boys clean their bathroom well. He has them clean it so they realize how yucky it is to clean it up and hopefully they will be more careful!

I saw this funny sign at my sister's MIL's house... over the toilet it said:

"We aim to please"
"You Aim, too, PLEASE!"

I'm thinking... "what is red and green and black?" I'm no riddle-queen, but can you think of a yummylicious fruit that we love during the summer? It's time to get our watermelon on! It doesn't matter if we wear it, eat it, craft it, bake it, or drive it.... it's that time of year for watermelons, sun, fun, and lots of juicy faces.

Scrappy Trends is a place I discovered a couple months ago, when the originator, Trish H, left a comment on my blog that she was featuring my freebie on her site.

Scrappy Trends has a linky tool that you can add your freebies, promotions, layouts, challenges, or whatever you want to promote digital and hybrid scrapbooking-wise. There is no limit to how many you can add, and it is done in a 2-5 day period so your info remains for a few days.

It's great for scrapbookers to see the new things designers come out with and what kind of fun things there are to do around digi land. It's great for designers to share their ideas and goods!

If you are super duper busy, you can give Trish your info and she will post it for you.

I live in Arizona, and I used to live in the Phoenix area for several years, so I was used to hearing the theme song for the Arizona Diamondbacks (Professional Baseball team).. and the main part says, "I love my Diamondbacks!"... so I have that song running through my head, but instead of Diamondbacks, I'm singing, "I love my Gingerscraps!"

Again, THANK YOU! to all of you who have left comments on my blog the last few years, and I am so impressed... recently, on the mega blog train Pirate theme, I received 41 comments! That is a record... I think the most I ever had before that was like, 26?

Anyhoo, I decided I wanted to do something really special for all of you. I still have freebie kits here on my blog, but they were done before I started selling at Gingerscraps; and now I know how to make quality elements and papers... sooooo what I want to do is make a freebie kit for everyone! BUT..... I couldn't think of what the theme should be.... That's where I need your help. Please give me some ideas of what you would like to have.

A Fun, Fresh Charity Collab!

March 14-20, 2011 is National Multiple Sclerosis Awareness week, and in honor of that, 34 designers got together to create a mega-kit called "Movement," and then a Creative Team got together to design matching Quick Pages and Templates.

MS stops people from moving, and we're raising money to help the National MS Society make sure that doesn't happen.

This kit includes 190 Papers, 419 Elements, 3 Alphas, and the QP set includes 42 QPs, 1 brag book, and 6 templates.

100% of the proceeds from the sale of this bundle go to the National MS Society, more specifically, Mandy Hornbuckle's BikeMS ride.

New "Wild Blueberry" kit!

This last week or so, I've been working on this kit! Last year, I made a freebie kit called, "Blueberry Glacee de Noel" for the DSO color challenge, and I had so many people who loved it, loved purple, and the blueberry theme. I decided to redo the Blueberry Glacee kit as I've learned so much more about quality in designing elements and papers.

What started as a Wintry kit, has now evolved into a warm, summery kit and the berry harvest time. I really love the colors and I hope this kit will inspire passion in you..

It stars.... TA DA..... Billie Valentine himself! Each month has a special theme.. Billie is multitalented and fashionable. We LOVE our Billie Valentine Calendar, and the best thing? Part of the sales from the calendar go to help other fur babies!

I'm running out of time, and want to spend as much time with my family, so I didn't decorate as much as usual. But I want to share this with you.
